Day 19

What does it look like to truly invest in something? It’s never really a quick process. It takes time, and it takes resources. And it takes willpower - determination - to use that time and those resources, even if payoff isn’t immediate.

The same is true for our fasting and our prayer lives. They take an investment of US. Our time, our resources, our appetites, sure … but also US. All of us. To really get a return on our investment, it has to be more than simple religious duty or rote routine. It takes us being invested in the process and the end product. It takes us wanting to connect with God and doing the hard work of muscling through our distractions.
