JOSEPH: The Chosen Dreamer
It’s hard going when doing the right thing doesn’t immediately fix our problems, get noticed, or produce the good we want … even worse, sometimes it seems like doing the right thing brings us pain. When these hurts and disappointments come from the people closest to us, trust can start to feel like a massive risk, especially when the consequences of their actions keep disrupting our lives day after day. In the end, we can’t anchor our hearts to the hope of being understood, seen, or vindicated by others – we need a foundation much deeper, much firmer than that.
Joseph’s life is a powerful story for just this. He dealt with the sting of family betrayal and the ache of being forgotten by those he helped & supported, yet he kept holding onto God when his path seemed entirely blocked. His journey points us to a God who weaves beautiful things out of times and seasons we’d rather skip. It shows us that a mature faith is one that grows to be visible through the good we choose to do, especially when that good those who have wronged us.
