We can spend years building our lives on what we’re certain truly matters, only to discover at some point that we’ve tragically missed something vitally important. This kind of discovery can shake us and leave us wondering whether our past has disqualified us or if we can really change the direction of our lives.
The Apostle Paul knew what it was to be completely wrong about something he fundamentally believed. Yet, when he encountered Jesus, his life changed on a foundational level. This meeting redirected the whole course of his life and eventually carried him into cities, homes, prisons, friendships, conflicts, and opportunities he never could have planned for himself. His story reminds us that where we’ve been doesn’t have to determine where God will lead us next.
