Day 14

Sometimes, it's easy to reduce our faith to something akin to a checklist - an assortment of do’s and don’t, of be here’s and don’t go there’s. At other times, it’s tempting to simply SAY we’re following Jesus without actually DOING what goes along with it.

And the reality is that what Jesus is calling us to is not a balance between the two. Rather, He wants us to DO what accords with BEING in fellowship (relationship) with Him. It’s not a list of rules & regulations nor is it only lip-service.

Following Jesus means we follow Him - not rocket science, but harder to do many times than to affirm. We need to KNOW Him and then ACT in response to that knowing relationship.

Sometimes that means dedicating 21 Days to Prayer and Fasting to seek Him and grow closer to Him. But it’s not to earn His favor or to gain some kind of religious credentials. It’s all about seeing Him as the powerful, beautiful, victorious King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the brother closer than a friend, the Savior of the whole world.
