Day 15

In yesteryears, in days that were not commendable in the Christian Church, religious devotion was not only expected, it was enforced. Crimes against the faith were crimes against the state, and impiety was criminalized. Rather than devotion being an expression of authentic belief, it was extracted at the end of the sword.

This is not the way of Christ. This is not the way of true faith.

Instead, God calls to us, beckons us further on and deeper in, wanting us to see Him and be with Him and respond with the freest of loves - because that is how He loves us!
